Materials for Metal 3D Printing
「Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V)」
Features
Titanium has the following features.
- Corrosion/rust resistant to seawater or saltwater.
- Heat resistant. Its melting temperature is around 1,660℃ which is higher than 1,530℃ of iron or 1.080℃ of copper.
- High strength. Tensile strength of pure titanium is 320Mpa and that of titanium alloys is 980Mpa, while iron has 200Mpa or so.
- Light. Its specific gravity is 4.7g/cm3 which is lighter than 7.87g/cm3 of Iron.
Containing nickel, aluminium and other chemical elements, titanium alloys have better corrosion resistance and strength than pure titanium.
